Just wanted to thank you for spending some time with us today. Everyone that attended has said positive things about the event and I hope very much we'll be able to get you to come back again early in 2006.

Using whatever opportunities we have to put a personal face to LGBT issues hopefully helps people see the impact that homophobia has not just on LGBT people but also on those of us who love them as members of our families and friends.

So thanks again for sharing your story, enlightening us to the valuable work that FFLAG do and for the informative resource packs you left for us.

Looking forward to welcoming you again in the future.

Thank you so much for coming along today and sharing both your personal story with us, but also talking about the valuable work FFLAG does. As a gay man, who was very fortunate in that after the initial "was it something we did or didn't do"reaction, my parents were totally accepting of my being gay, I sometimes need to hear the message that not everyone is so lucky. This just reiterates how much work there is still to do in society. Teachers need educating which needs to come from the Government down, parents need to understand that just because your son or daughter says they are gay or lesbian, it doesn't make them a different person to the one you loved 5 minutes before they told you.

The more stories people hear about the impact this can have the more society will change little by little. It's a long road, but while we have caring people like you and organisations like FFLAG, we will come through in the end. I am sure your daughter appreciates just how wonderful a mum she has

The information you sent was of great help to both myself and my son, and also my family have read quite a few of the leaflets, and have all said that the information it contained helped them a great deal.

So once again just wanted to thank yourself and the organisation, and to let you know that when I felt that I had nowhere to turn you were there with an understanding word.

Mum from Lincolnshire

"I just wanted to let you know that your organisation was a lifeline to me last year.

My 16 year old son came out and I found out he was having a relationship with a 30 year old man.

This all in a matter of 48 hours!

GP's were involved and through the love of his family my son recovered. This all happened before my son was to take his GCSE's. 10 days before.

I phoned FFLAG several times over a week ( number given by my GP ) and you were excellent. I can not thank you enough for the support you gave to me over the phone those times. You were my lifeline. I wept and wept and the listener was so supportive. I clung to her every word.

My son did well in his exams and continues to do well with A levels and plans to read law at Uni. He is gay and we have all comes to terms with that. WE love him.

Anyway, thankyou for your support. YOU MADE THE DIFFERENCE. FFLAG was the strength behind our recovery.

Thank you so much.

I just wanted to let you know what a great help FFLAG was during that difficult week this time last year.

Keep up the wonderful work"

You have been of invaluable support to me the week my 16 year old son came out as gay. My GP gave me your number and you 'saved' me. I was so upset/worried/guilty/shocked at what I had to deal with. I sobbed and your listener was an invaluable source of comfort. I never knew her name but felt she knew my intense pain.

Thank goodness for helplines!

Your volunteer was my complete lifeline. She made me feel I was not alone with my grief. Thankyou.

Your organisation does fantastic work, I am in complete awe of you all.

My daughter and I will be eternally grateful for your sensitivity in dealing with what was a most difficult time.

Thank you so much.

"Thank you so much for your support and listening ear. It has meant so much. Talking to you has really helped me to move on in my acceptance. Thank you for sending the articles so swiftly. We both found them so encouraging and helpful."

mum & dad from Leicestershire.

"Thank you so much for your support and for making such an important resource (Urdu and Hindi publications) available across the atlantic. Will you be developing additional material? There's such a need..."

daughter from the USA.

"I have just found out about your website from reading the problem pages in a magazine!

I have just recently come out to my parents after knowing all my life the fact I was gay!

It took alot for them to accept it and come to terms with it - there is still an awkward silence whenever the subject arises on the tele for instance or when another family member asks have I got myself a girlfriend yet, your website has helped me realise I am not alone, and neither do my parents have to be!

Thank you so much for opening a window to help us as a family"

"Just want to say a big thank-you! You helped me "come out" to my mum so thank you so much! xxxxxxxx"
